The area between the large Dutch cities Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht is called the Green Heart. Since it\'s largely below sea level, pumping mills like this Kockengense Molen performed their duty for centuries. The mill was built in 1675. Nowadays the pumping is done with electric power. The stripes in the sky originate from airplane traffic around Schiphol.
Firing sunset at Mill \"De Vlijt\" - Meppel (Netherlands). This corn mill dates from 1858. It was demolished before the 2nd World War. The mill has been rebuilt completely from 2002 onwards. So actually it\'s a new, modern mill.
