BEAUTIFUL CREATIONS IN ARCHITECTURE

Houses, offices, public places. You name it and the architect’s hand can be seen. It’s a challenging category to shoot photos. I try to stay away from the usual full front captures. Instead I’m looking for a striking perspective. Or try to embed the object in its surroundings.

Architecture is everywhere: in houses, offices, stations, museums, and the public spaces we move through every day. Wherever people shape an environment, the architect’s vision leaves a visible mark. Photographing architecture, however, is far from simple. Buildings are static subjects, often captured countless times before, which makes it a challenge to create images that feel personal and distinctive.

Focus on perspectives

Rather than relying on the traditional straight-on façade shot, I’m drawn to perspectives that reveal something unexpected. I look for angles that emphasize geometry, rhythm, scale, or contrast. Sometimes that means focusing on a small detail that hints at the character of the whole structure; other times it means using light, reflections, or shadows to transform a familiar building into something almost abstract.

Embedding within the environment

I’m also interested in the relationship between architecture and its surroundings. A building rarely exists in isolation. The streets around it, the people moving through it, the weather, and even the time of day all influence how the structure is experienced. By embedding the subject within its environment, I try to capture not just the design itself, but also the atmosphere and context that give it life.

Architecture structures with form and function

For me, architectural photography is not only about documenting a building. It is about interpretation — finding balance between form and function, between structure and emotion. Every location offers an opportunity to discover a new perspective and tell a different visual story.
