Hamtoren – Vleuten – Netherlands
This tower is the remnant of Castle Den Ham. It was built in the 15th century and was intended to live in during battles. Nowadays it’s owned and maintained by a well-known Dutch musician.
Chipiona Lighthouse – Chipiona – Spain
At a height of 62 metres the tallest lighthouse in Spain. This version operates from 1867. The light is visible from 129 kilometres
Watertoren Zuidergasfabriek (Bella Vistapark) – Amsterdam – Netherlands
This 41.5-meter Watertoren Zuidergasfabriek in Amsterdam’s Bella Vistapark was built in 1910–1911 for the Zuidergasfabriek gasworks. Constructed of red brick with natural-stone accents in eclectic neo-renaissance style, it once held reservoirs for cooling coal-gas production water. Now a national monument, it’s being transferred to Stadsherstel for restoration.
Watertower Amsterdamsestraatweg – Utrecht – Netherlands
Built in 1917. Capacity 1.000 m3. Height 44 mtr. Presently the tower has a housing function.
Ravensberg – Bad Sachsa – Germany
At the top of the Ravensberg (altitude 659 m) this 64 meter high tower was built to observe the nearby East-Germany during the cold war. Now it has a telecommunications function. Pretty steep mountain road.
Watertoren Wageningse Berg – Wageningen – Netherlands
Built in 1948 as replacement due to war damage. Nicknamed the Pepperbus. Height 30 metres.
